Inaugural Meeting of the G20 Resource Efficiency Dialogue on Monday, 27 November 2017 in Berlin

The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety would like to invite you to the Inaugural Meeting of the G20 Resource Efficiency Dialogue  on Monday, 27 November 2017, 9:00h to 18:30h at the Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade, Lützowufer 15, 10785 Berlin.  

The G20 agreed at the Summit in Hamburg to launch a G20 Resource Efficiency Dialogue. The G20 Leaders’ Declaration states: “The G20 Resource Efficiency Dialogue will exchange good practices and national experiences to improve the efficiency and sustainability of natural resource use across the entire life cycle, and to promote sustainable consumption and production patterns.” Germany will host the Inaugural Meeting of the G20 Resource Efficiency Dialogue.

The morning session will be dedicated to resource efficiency as a key to the Sustainable Development Goals. The afternoon session will focus on good practices examples and resource-efficient solutions along the entire life-cycle from the G20 partners.  

Federal Environment Minister Barbara Hendricks will open the Inaugural Meeting of the G20 Resource Efficiency Dialogue. Confirmed speakers include Brigitte Zypries (Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy), Elliott Harris (Assistant Secretary-General, Director New York Office, UN Environment), and Professor Hans Bruyninckx (Executive Director, European Environment Agency).  

The working language at the event is English. Simultaneous translation into German will be provided during the morning session.
